Leading multinational online transportation network company Uber announced a new feature that allows riders to book a ride up to 30 days in advance. So now on wards you can schedule your car from 30 minutes up to 30 days in advance.
The new feature is only applicable for uberX rides, the company’s most popular service. Uber will also send you reminders, one 24 hours and another 30 minutes ahead of your scheduled ride. Rates will be as same as they would a normal UberX ride, but will be change to surge prices at the scheduled time of the ride, so know that rush hour traffic fees may still apply.
Currently the feature is only available in Seattle in the US and will eventually be available in other top business travel cities. Now there is no word when the feature will come to India. Uber isn’t the very first ride-sharing app to launch scheduled rides. Lyft previously announced its service exclusively in San Francisco two weeks ago, however you cannot request a ride more than 24 hours in advance.
